The gameplay begins in the Roman Empire where it is considered to be the advantage of the dark ages due to volcanic eruptions which indicates a bad sign for the people living over there. The game begins as a player will be playing on the Western side of the Roman Empire who will be facing opponents from the east who are called Huns.
The Empire was divided between the Prince of The Empire to rule in the eastern and western parts. The Roman empire faces a lot of problems due to the volcanic eruption as an apocalyptic sign which indicates all across Europe ponders the death of a famous emperor Theodosius I in the year 395 AD.
